Senior Electronic Design Engineer – Lakewood, CO RESPONSIBILITIES:

Senior Electronic Design Engineer responsible for designing and developing advanced electronic systems, including system architecture, component selection, circuit design, and integration of complex subsystems. Expertise in analog and digital design, PCB layout, and system‑level engineering. Lead development of innovative electronic products, optimize existing systems, mentor junior engineers, manage projects from concept to production, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, and cost objectives while complying with regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead design and development of analog and digital circuits, power systems, and signal processing subsystems for complex products.

Define system‑level architecture and component selection for electronic systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Develop and validate circuit designs from initial concept through simulation, prototyping, testing, and integration.

Design and implement complex control systems, including microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs.

PCB Design and Layout Oversight

Lead and mentor the PCB design process, ensuring layouts are optimized for signal integrity, manufacturability, and thermal management.

Review and approve PCB designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal design guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and system‑level integration.

Strong experience with PCB design and layout software (Altium, Eagle, KiCad, Mentor Graphics).

Hands‑on experience troubleshooting circuit‑level issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other bench tools.

Experience with IDEs such as STM32CubeIDE, MPLAB X, or Atmel Studio; toolchains like GCC and IAR.

Experience with high‑speed, high‑voltage, and mixed‑signal circuit design is a plus.

Expertise in analog and digital signal processing, microcontroller and FPGA programming, and embedded system design.

Solid understanding of electromagnetic compatibility, signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal design.

Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee) and IoT systems is desirable.

Familiarity with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or CMSIS‑RTOS.

Proficient in electronic design and simulation tools (Altium Designer, OrCAD, LTSpice, MATLAB, PSpice).

Proficient in reading and writing firmware for microcontrollers/microprocessors (ARM, PIC, AVR), including C/C++ programming for hardware bring‑up.

Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive, results‑oriented attitude.

Compensation The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
