The Opportunity
The Retail Sales Manager will manage relationships with key retailers that are strategically important to the business and represent a significant portion of the company’s revenue and brand presence. This individual will work closely with internal teams (Brand, Legal, Finance, and Product Licensing) to ensure cross‑functional alignment, as well as with key external partners including licensees and retailers. The role offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment supporting the day‑to‑day business of DSE’s product licensing portfolio. This position requires approximately 25–50% travel, including occasional overnight trips for meetings, events, and business development activities. The Retail Sales Manager will report to the Sr. Manager of Retail & Publishing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail accounts and serve as the primary liaison between the company and the customer.
Conduct regular business reviews to align on performance, targets, and opportunities.
Identify upselling, cross‑selling, and promotional opportunities to drive sales performance within assigned accounts.
Create and implement Joint Business Plans with key retailers and align with internal teams on account strategies.
Forecast sales and set targets based on market and customer data.
Ensure proper execution of in‑store promotions and maximize in store presence and marketing opportunities.
Conduct retail visits to document key tentpole moments, capturing photos and analyzing brand presence, emerging trends, and identifying white space opportunities for growth.
Stay updated on market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activity and provide actionable insights to the commercial team for product positioning and innovation.
Collaborate with Brand for campaign alignment and brand messaging, Licensing to ensure product availability and white space fulfillment and Business Analyst to establish PowerBi reporting for retail.
Analyze sales data, promotional ROI, and profitability metrics, provide quarterly performance reports to management and track against KPIs like volume growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Build GTM milestones and retailer sell‑in windows and retail meeting calendar and track meetings and notes for accounts and categories.

Experience, Skills, and Competencies
3-5 years of experience managing retail relationships across key channels: mass (Walmart/Target), e‑comm, mid‑tier, specialty, clubs, drug/grocery, off‑price and value.
Experience and proven success in developing retail strategy, pitching to retail, landing and executing retail programs.
Talent for creating compelling PowerPoint presentations/decks as well as delivering persuasive presentations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
A growth mindset, a strong desire to learn and embrace challenges.
Curiosity, and are a quick learner – you have the affinity for learning new systems and putting them into practice.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to track multiple moving parts.
An entrepreneurial spirit, are resourceful, curious and proactive by nature.
Strong team synergy skills and a high level of enthusiasm for collaborating within and across teams.
The ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
Expert knowledge with MS Office related programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and experience with licensing systems – MyMediabox is preferred.
The desire and the ability to travel often (40–50%) including last‑minute.
