Base Pay Range $39.75/hr – $57.64/hr

Multimedia Specialist As a Multimedia Specialist, you will develop, produce, and create multimedia content that aligns with organizational goals and brand guidelines. Create, edit, and update high‑definition, broadcast‑quality videos for promotional, instructional, and informational projects. Work with Airports Authority staff to understand video objectives and determine new footage to be filmed; write pre‑production documents and assist managers with crafting scripts. Serve as producer advising how messages can be more effectively communicated in various media.

General Responsibilities

Meet with Airports Authority staff to determine video needs such as audience, project objectives, and timelines.

Create conceptual audio/video designs; guide the pre‑production process for each video in collaboration with the requesting office; review draft production concepts with various teams.

Develop production schedules for filming, re‑filming, editing, and the review process to ensure all deadlines are met.

Determine video shoot locations; stage filming sites and backgrounds; interact with video subjects and, at times, with senior management in a professional manner.

Provide technical assistance in the planning and production of video productions.

Serve as producer, advising professional recommendations on the best way to achieve desired results for audio recordings, podcasts, interviews, videos, animation, and creative messaging.

Provide audio and video editing to ensure a seamless continuity of content/messages.

Create, edit, and update high‑definition, broadcast‑quality videos; ensure final videos have excellent sound quality using proper audio equipment.

Advise on media asset releases, permissions, and multimedia rights.

Develop budget and timeline for delivery of each project; provide technical and budget information to support the acquisition of new equipment and software.

Develop and maintain an archive catalogue of digital and hard copy videos and an electronic database of all digital videos easily accessible by the Marketing and Revenue teams.

Maintain proficiency in operating all current video equipment; stay abreast of developments, trends, and ‘best practices’ in video production, equipment, and software; make recommendations to management regarding replacements or upgrades.

Visit all Airports Authority locations—Dulles International Airport (IAD), Reagan National Airport (DCA), and Dulles Toll Road (DTR)—to record and capture content.

Help develop, track, and analyze online video analytics with the Digital Strategy team.

May provide general logistical support for Airports Authority special events and may be required to work outside of normal business hours, as needed.

Perform other functions as assigned.

Qualifications

Three years of progressively responsible experience in broadcast‑quality audiovisual production in business, industry, or educational settings.

Knowledge of, and ability to create design concepts based on varying audiences.

Ability to design, create, edit, and produce instructional and informational videos and other types of videos as needed.

Experience with conducting interviews, storytelling in digital media, and producing episodic content.

Technical experience with audio recording for radio, podcasts, announcements, and video products.

Proficient skill in operating audio/video equipment.

Proficient skill in using computer‑based video editing software.

Skill in developing and maintaining automated video databases.

Proficient skill in using a Mac, InDesign software, and all other relevant, current software needed to design and edit audio and visual content, including animation.

Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience animating videos and adding subtitles to videos.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production, Media Studies, Marketing, or Communications.

Use of Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro (Video Editing), After Effects (Motion Graphics & Effects), Audition (Audio Editing & Effects), Media Encoder (Final File Delivery).

Education A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).

Special Factors

May be required to work evenings or weekends to meet deadlines or to film special events.

May be subject to adverse weather conditions when filming outside and at other on‑scene locations.

Subject to job pressures from tight deadlines, media demands for information in emergencies, and other situational factors.

Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion by the immediate supervisor and others throughout production for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
