Overview Vice President, IT Applications and Projects

About the Opportunity The Vice President of IT Applications and Projects is a visionary and results-driven leader responsible for overseeing all clinical and non-clinical application systems across a five-hospital and ambulatory health system. This includes enterprise platforms such as Epic (EHR), Workday (HR/Finance), and Infor (Supply Chain), as well as other mission-critical applications supporting patient care, operations, and business functions. The VP leads large-scale implementations with precision—ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact. This role drives informatics, change management, and innovation to support high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.

The VP, IT Applications and Projects will embody the Memorial Health values of safety, integrity, quality and stewardship to support the mission and vision.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership in healthcare IT, including direct oversight of enterprise application.

Proven success leading large-scale implementations of Epic, Workday, and Infor in a multi-entity health system.

Responsibilities

Partners with CMIO, CNIO, and operational leaders to define and execute the strategic roadmap for clinical and business applications

Champions innovation in digital health, informatics, and enterprise systems to support care transformation and operational excellence

Leads cross-functional governance for application prioritization, optimization, and lifecycle management

Oversees implementation, integration, and performance of Epic, Workday, Infor, and other enterprise platforms

Ensures alignment of application functionality with clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and financial goals

Drives system-wide standardization and interoperability across hospitals and ambulatory sites

Leads enterprise-wide implementations and upgrades, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget

Establishes and enforces project management methodologies, resource planning, and vendor accountability

Monitors key performance indicators and post-implementation outcomes to ensure sustained value

Leads informatics strategy to enhance data-driven decision-making, clinical documentation, and user experience

Develops and executes change management frameworks to support adoption, training, and continuous improvement

Translates complex technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels

Oversees a portfolio of IT and non-IT projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational goals

Implements governance structures, risk mitigation strategies, and performance dashboards

Fosters a culture of accountability, agility, and innovation in project execution

Drives exceptional user experience by embedding service responsiveness and satisfaction metrics into application support and project delivery. Oversee the design and execution of scalable solutions that reduce turnaround times, elevate stakeholder engagement, and ensure that IT applications and initiatives consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

Leads, mentors, and grows a high-performing team of application analysts, informaticists, project managers, and technical staff

Promotes a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous learning

Aligns team structure and talent development with evolving organizational needs

Performs other related work as required or requested.
