Adjunct Lecturer in Law – Intellectual Property and Technology
USC Gould School of Law
is seeking a part‑time lecturer to teach an undergraduate law class,
Intellectual Property and Technology . The instructor will begin work this fall 2025 to develop the course and will then teach the course during the spring 2026 semester – from January 12 to May 1, 2026 (final exam period from May 6–13). Lectures are scheduled on campus, once a week for 3 hours and 20 minutes, on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 8:20 PM. The schedule is firm, so candidates must be able to teach on campus at the scheduled time. Responsibilities
Develop the course syllabus and instructional materials in fall 2025. Deliver weekly lectures and lead in‑class discussions in spring 2026. Assess student learning through assignments, exams, and participation. Maintain course records and provide timely feedback to students. Qualifications
A PhD or Juris Doctor degree is required. Strong legal professional background with experience in intellectual property law. Teaching experience is preferred but not required. Ability to teach on campus at the specified time. Teaching Schedule
Weeks: January 12 – May 1, 2026 (final exam period May 6–13). Day: Wednesdays. Time: 5:00 – 8:20 PM. Location: USC Gould School of Law, on campus. Salary and Compensation
Base salary range: $2,433.66 – $12,250 per semester. Compensation is based on scope of responsibilities, units per course, experience, education, key skills, market considerations, and institutional equity. Training Requirements
Harassment Prevention Training (time of hire and every two years thereafter). Integrity and Accountability Code Training (time of hire). Information Security Training (annually). Workplace Violence Prevention Plan Training (annually). Additional training may be required based on specific job responsibilities. EEO Statement
