Overview UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. The incumbent analyzes patient record content to accurately assign documentation deficiencies to the responsible physician and assists physicians in completing incomplete healthcare records according to hospital by‑laws, rules, regulations and JCAHO guidelines. The role prepares daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports, ensuring the integrity of the chart deficiency database and participates in departmental PI projects.

Responsibilities

Analyze patient record content and assign documentation deficiencies to the responsible physician.

Communicate and coordinate with medical and house staff regarding healthcare record deficiencies.

Assist physicians in completing incomplete healthcare records and documents.

Prepare and comply with daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports, ensuring the integrity of the chart deficiency database.

Participate in departmental PI projects.

Required Qualifications

Familiarity with alpha/numeric filing systems.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the department and across the Health System.

3 years of experience working with hospital medical records.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of EPIC registration system.

Working knowledge of BISCOM RHIA or RHIT credential.

PC literacy.

Knowledge of medical terminology.
