Overview

Tenure‑Track Faculty position (2025‑2026) for the Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI) at Johns Hopkins University. This role supports one or more of the following cross‑departmental DSAI clusters:

Foundational methods of Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence ,

Embodied AI Systems ,

Health and Medicine ,

Scientific Discovery ,

Engineered AI systems ,

People, Policy, Governance, and Ethics of AI , and

Security and Safety of Autonomous Systems . Responsibilities

Establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program in data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. Provide teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to an inclusive, supportive educational environment. Collaborate with faculty across the University’s many schools and institutes, including the Whiting School of Engineering, Carey Business School, School of Medicine, and others. Support one or more DSAI cross‑departmental clusters as outlined above. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields. Demonstrated research impact in data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. Commitment to teaching excellence and inclusive education. Ability to secure external research funding and work collaboratively across disciplines. Salary & Benefits

Assistant Professor: $150,000 – $200,000 per year (12‑month FTE) Associate Professor: $180,000 – $245,000 per year (12‑month FTE) Full Professor: $200,000 – $450,000 per year (12‑month FTE) A dual‑career program supports spousal/partner placement within the University and the broader Baltimore/Washington area.
