Position Title: Tenure-Track Faculty 2025-2026 Position Type: Faculty Johns Hopkins University has made a major new investment in Data Science and AI. The expansion will add 150 new faculty positions, including 30 Bloomberg Distinguished Professorships, and the University has established a new Data Science and AI Institute (DSAI Institute). A new half-million square foot building and an unparalleled computational infrastructure are being constructed. This expansion will establish Johns Hopkins as a leading engineering school with a top AI research program and will double the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics from 20 full-time regular faculty in 2023 to 40 by 2028. Responsibilities

This search is to fill faculty positions in the DSAI Institute. We invite applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of the Mathematical Sciences. The successful candidate will have a tenure home in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (and possibly another Whiting School of Engineering department) and will support one or more of the following cross-departmental DSAI clusters: Foundational methods of Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence Health and Medicine Scientific Discovery Engineered AI systems People, Policy, Governance, and Ethics of AI Security and Safety of Autonomous Systems Preference will be given to candidates whose research has made an impact on data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Outstanding candidates at all academic ranks will be considered. We anticipate making multiple offers. Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields, and will be expected to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program. Salary and Benefits

The expected salary ranges are: Assistant Professor $150k-$200k, Associate Professor $180k-$245k, Full Professor $200k-$450k, for 12-month FTE. The salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University’s good-faith belief at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors including experience, qualifications, rank, field, discipline, work experience, internal equity, external market conditions, geographic location, and other factors as determined by the University.
