Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Research Coordinator. This role provides a basic to moderate level of coordination for research studies conducted at the Medical Center. Responsibilities include recruitment and enrollment support, grant submissions, research data collection and study coordination. The role may involve intra-operative monitoring and serving as a liaison with the IRB and funding agencies. The position ensures accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and obligations to patients, Principal Investigators, research teams, and sponsors. The coordinator may interface with patients/subjects and Principal Investigators in support of clinical trials, if applicable. Works under general supervision.

Job Responsibilities

Study Regulations: Maintain up-to-date regulatory documents, assist with informed consent, and follow up with patients/subjects to ensure understanding, visits, and compliance.

Clinical Competency: May require competency in EKG, phlebotomy, specimen handling and shipping. In-house training and certification provided. Additional trainings may be required.

Continuous Learning: Ongoing continuing education in research development; annual proof of ongoing research education. Training programs provided through the SOM.

Reporting and Analysis: Gather, consolidate, and analyze data for sponsors and regulatory agencies; provide progress reports to necessary parties; perform preliminary data analyses and generate reports.

Grants: Assist in grant applications and related activities; organize required paperwork and coordinate resolutions and progress reports to sponsors.

Budgets: Develop draft budgets and prepare funding reports; assist in identifying potential sponsors for trials and research.

Special Projects: Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Human Subjects Research: Update and submit necessary IRB and institutional approvals; collect and submit enrollment statistics as needed.

Research Activities: Collect patient information for research projects, abstract data from charts, manage data collection tools, audit databases, conduct study visits, and perform preliminary analyses.

Recruitment: Screen potential patients/subjects for eligibility, coordinate initial visits, and document informed consent and willingness to participate.

Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, allied health, or equivalent, with 0–1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate research-related equipment and to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems. Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience with research protocols. Experience working in an academic medical center environment.

Salary: NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state law on salary transparency. The range for the role is $64,350 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses or other forms of compensation.
