Overview
Research Coordinator role at NYU Langone Health / NYU Grossman School of Medicine. The position involves coordinating research studies, assisting with recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, data collection, and study coordination. The role may include intra-operative monitoring and acting as a liaison with the IRB and funding agencies. Work is performed under general supervision in compliance with Good Clinical Practices and HIPAA, with direct interface to patients/subjects and Principal Investigators. Responsibilities
Study Regulations: Maintain up-to-date regulatory documents; assist with informed consent; monitor patient/subject understanding; maintain scheduling for visits and compliance. Clinical Competency: May require competencies in EKG, phlebotomy, specimen handling, storage, and shipping. In-house training and certification provided; additional trainings may be required. Continuous Learning: Maintain ongoing research education; provide proof of continuing education annually; trainings provided through the School of Medicine. Reporting and Analysis: Gather and compile data; assist in data analysis for sponsors and regulatory agencies; prepare reports for the PI and sponsors; conduct preliminary analyses and generate reports. Grants: Assist in preparation of grant proposals and related activities; organize required documentation; coordinate follow-up and reporting to sponsors. Budgets: Develop draft budgets; assist in funding reports; identify potential sponsors for trials as assigned. Research Activities: Collect patient information, abstract data from charts, manage data collection tools, audit databases, conduct study visits, and perform preliminary analyses as needed. Recruitment: Screen potential patients/subjects for eligibility; coordinate initial visits; document inclusion/exclusion criteria and informed consent; ensure participant willingness. Human Subjects' Research: Update/submit necessary IRB and trial office documents; obtain approvals; coordinate enrollment statistics as needed. Other Duties: Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, allied health, or related discipline with 0-1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems; strong time management and ability to work under pressure. Ability to operate research-related equipment. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of basic medical terminology; prior experience with Research Protocols; experience in an academic medical center environment. Additional Information
