This is a Non-Exempt position. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the referral process within the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) program. This position ensures timely coordination of care between patients, internal providers, and external specialists by facilitating referrals and maintaining documentation. The Referral Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring patients receive necessary off-site healthcare services and that all PRC referrals comply with applicable policies and funding guidelines. Minimum Qualifications

Education and Training: Requires an Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in referral coordination, case management, or PRC support. Experience working within tribal or IHS health systems is highly preferred. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check. Requires HIPAA certification or willingness to obtain. Requires CPR certification. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Requires knowledge of PRC policies, IHS referral protocols, and tribal health system practices. Requires familiarity with medical terminology, billing codes, and insurance verification. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems. Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Requires effective communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple referrals and follow up in a timely manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and external providers. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to adapt to changing procedures and program requirements. Ablity to sit and work at a computer station for extended periods. Occasional lifting of files, records, or office supplies up to 25 pounds. Requires hearing and speaking to exchange information and read documents. Ability to travel occasionally for training or program coordination. Note:

Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing. TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED. If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
