Phlebotomist – CSL
Join CSL as a Phlebotomist to perform efficient plasma collection from donors using phlebotomy and apheresis equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of the apheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set‑up, monitoring and disconnect.
- Conduct venipuncture to begin the apheresis process while following SOPs and FDA guidelines.
- Evaluate vein performance, make corrections, and ensure efficient donation for product quality and donor safety.
- Educate donors on therapy products, screening, nutrition and center policies.
- Monitor donors for reactions, assist or notify staff as needed.
- Record incidents and other data with PDA and the electronic donor information system.
- Calibrate equipment, resolve alarms and troubleshoot failures.
- Maintain clean, safe work environment and comply with HSE and OSHA policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
- Cross‑train in other areas as required.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months experience as a phlebotomist; 12 months in a medical or health care environment preferred.
- Internal CSL employees must complete CSL Plasma training.
Working Conditions
- Routine forms or oral communications, understanding written instructions, standing/walking up to 100% of time.
- Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs, fast‑paced environment with hazards including chemicals, extreme temperatures and blood‑borne pathogens.
- Must wear PPE and be willing to work overtime and extended hours.
