Description The

Protégé Business Analyst

is an early-to-mid career professional assigned under the

DHA Mentor-Protégé Program . This role provides structured business analysis, program support, and communication services while gaining mentorship, exposure, and training in defense healthcare operations and federal contracting. The Protégé Analyst works alongside senior government and contractor staff, developing professional skills in business process analysis, data interpretation, and stakeholder engagement, while directly supporting DHA business execution and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Business Execution Support Assist in gathering, documenting, and analyzing

business requirements and workflows

for DHA operations.

Support the development of

policies, procedures, and performance metrics .

Contribute to reports, trackers, and executive-level documentation under supervision of senior staff.

Strategic Communications Draft talking points, briefings, and stakeholder updates for internal and external communications.

Provide administrative support during meetings, including

note-taking, action item tracking, and coordination packages .

Assist in maintaining consistency of messaging across organizational channels.

Mentor-Protégé Program Participation Collaborate closely with a

Mentor organization and senior analysts

to gain hands-on experience in federal program support.

Participate in structured

professional development, knowledge transfer, and skills training

as outlined in the Mentor-Protégé plan.

Document lessons learned, training milestones, and contribute to performance reports for the program.

Analytical & Reporting Support Collect, organize, and analyze program and project data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DHA standards.

Use Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other tools to support

dashboards and performance reporting .

Assist in developing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Information Management, or related field.

Experience:

1–3 years of experience in business analysis, program support, or a related field (internships and applied academic projects acceptable).

Skills:

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Willingness to learn federal acquisition, healthcare program management, and DHA business operations.
