Procurement Analyst PET – PET category support and supply base development for Amcor, a global packaging and container manufacturing company.
Job Description The Procurement Analyst PET will assist the PET Category Manager and Global PET Director on procurement activities, conduct analytical evaluations of quotations for goods and services, and help reduce total cost of ownership while ensuring supply security and regulatory compliance.
About The Role Assist in executing and supporting PET category strategy. Conduct data analysis, provide cost models, and support projects, RFQs, and supplier qualification initiatives.
Key Job Accountabilities
Drive end‑to‑end process of business case creation for PET related projects including submission into GSTT.
Extract, analyze and report mainframe/system data to provide visibility to GSTT project pipelines.
Assist in development of cost models and data collection for product performance and services.
Ensure PET price sheets are up to date with index related information.
Share pricing with Commercial Finance as needed to support BDR process.
Support Alternate Material Qualification projects by tracking PET milestones and pulling material reports.
Assist in PET RFQ process through data collection and summarization for management decisions.
Technical Skills
Customer‑centric mindset: building relationships and executing plans with customers.
Data extraction and query from systems such as SAP, GSTT, GSDB.
Data validation and issue resolution for inconsistencies.
Information system knowledge and enhancement proposals.
Monitoring, measurement, and KPI development.
Record retention policy compliance.
Requirements planning and technical software application use.
Strong computer skills – SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Power BI.
Strategy
Optimize total cost of ownership through supplier price breakdown and benchmarking.
Generate and maintain TCO tools and price break‑downs for category discussions.
Execute negotiation strategy and supplier selection criteria for PET category.
Review and adjust strategy in line with Amcor objectives.
Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans.
Supplier Selection & Approval
Identify, evaluate, and approve new suppliers meeting performance standards and compliance.
Leverage existing supply base or identify new suppliers for launches and initiatives.
Assist in developing global/regional contracts, make‑vs‑buy cycles, and outsourcing opportunities.
Pricing & Cost
Drive lowest total cost of ownership through market analysis and supplier negotiations.
Collaborate with functional and category managers to develop target cost and low‑cost alternatives.
Develop and maintain a portfolio of cost‑saving projects that meet Amcor targets.
Support supplier negotiation and participate in global negotiation teams.
Drive standardization of processes, design, and specifications.
Conduct buying analyses and spend evaluations on an ongoing basis.
Utilize eProcurement tools such as e‑auctions and catalogs.
Consolidate demand across regions and globally.
Supply Base Development & Management
Identify non‑preferred spend to move business away from non‑preferred suppliers.
Monitor key KPIs to assess and rate risk regularly.
Integrate IT with key suppliers to automate transactions and communication.
Compliance
Operate within regulatory and legal requirements: safety, environmental, SOX, tax, customs, ethics.
Understand and accept Amcor Code of Conduct, terms and conditions, and other requirements.
Support integration of procurement systems and tools (P2P).
Identify and communicate system and process gaps to sustain value creation.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
Preferred: Six Sigma, Should Cost Modeling, Change Management, Project Management.
Language: English (written and spoken fluently).
1-3 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain or related experience – preferably in a global manufacturing environment.
