This role is for a Project/Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the energy team, primarily focused in the Northeast U.S. (New York or surrounding states). Role description
Arcadis is currently searching for a Project/Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our growing energy team. This position can be based in any Northeast U.S. location (New York or surrounding states). The role will help grow and deliver engineering design, energy efficiency, electrification, decarbonization, commissioning, renewable generation and other clean energy and energy-related projects throughout the U.S., with primary focus in the Northeast U.S. Responsibilities
Support or lead the execution and delivery of projects with a primary focus on the HVAC and plumbing design of systems identified through energy audits to support facility- or enterprise-wide decarbonization strategies. Review building and energy codes, perform load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, systems evaluation, and HVAC design and specifications. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit for project drawings is essential. Support commissioning and construction management of energy efficiency projects to ensure systems meet owner requirements and comply with building codes. Gather information, evaluate and analyze energy use data; complete energy efficiency, distributed generation, and alternative energy calculations; model buildings and systems; conduct technical and financial calculations. Perform or oversee engineering analyses, modeling, and calculations to support feasibility studies, energy audits, sustainability plans, and detailed designs. Conduct field activities such as energy audits, lighting inventories, implementation oversight, and measurement and verification. Support business growth through successful project delivery, develop technical approaches for scopes of work, maintain client satisfaction, and mentor junior staff; manage project schedules and budgets. Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in HVAC design and related field. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree with proven work experience. Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in consulting engineering or other business working in the MEP or clean energy sectors. PE, CEM or LEED AP certification or other relevant accreditation, certification, or training. Experience or interest in project management and project delivery. Note:
