Hourly base pay rate is $31.30 - $46.97/hour. Fleet Services – A Cox Automotive Company keeps your fleet moving! Responsibilities
Perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician or higher. Learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques; comply with all company policies and achieve performance metrics. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Execute minor adjustments and repairs on electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, air conditioning, and other truck equipment. Diagnose, test, and repair equipment using hand tools, test instruments, and handheld computers; road test vehicles as needed. Identify problems, evaluate information, and determine appropriate actions; manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck. Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections. Coordinate with clients to assess needs and provide information, support, and resolutions; prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time effectively. Document work according to company standards, upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings using the TRAIT application on an iOS device; complete DOT forms and other required documentation timely. Work independently to manage daily schedule and maintain productivity within standard repair times; obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and purchase orders; discuss RO findings notes. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Maintain the service truck and perform safety checks and pre/post trip inspections. Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience. Alternative combinations include any level degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years’ related experience. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months. Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; current DOT medical card with remaining validity may substitute for a DOT physical if >4 months remain. Age 21 or older due to interstate commerce regulations; valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File. Safe driving record. Required certifications: ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months; preferred include ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8/608/609. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS OR OBTAINED WITHIN 18 MONTHS ASE T8 (PMI) certification PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS ASE T3 (Drivetrain) ASE T4 (Brakes) ASE T5 (Suspension) ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) ASE T7 (HVAC) ASE 608/609 certification* Skills & Abilities
Understand the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; able to perform moderately heavy labor. Endurance to exert oneself physically for long periods and perform repetitive tasks as needed. Effective two-way communication; convey information clearly and concisely.
