is a civil/structural engineering position focused on structural design, foundation engineering, and civil works for industrial and process facilities. Mariana Minerals is building the critical minerals supply chain to support the world’s energy transition. As a Staff/Senior Engineer - Sr. Civil / Structural, you will lead the development and deployment of first-of-its-kind chemical refining processes, while also supporting development of software for capital project execution and automated plant optimization. Location: Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of industrial facilities, including steel structures, equipment foundations, pipe racks, and modular systems

Perform structural analysis and calculations using software such as STAAD.Pro in compliance with applicable codes (IBC, AISC, ACI)

Design and review foundation systems (shallow and deep) for tanks, vessels, rotating equipment, and buildings

Develop site civil layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, and earthwork quantities

Prepare and review construction drawings including general arrangement (GA), reinforcement details, and specifications for structural steel and concrete

Manage coordination between architectural, civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines

Review and verify 3D models and drawing packages (Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks) created by the design team

Review shop drawings and submittals, conduct constructability reviews, and provide support during fabrication and construction

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on civil/structural design and ensure adherence to structural design codes and standards

Provide guidance to junior engineers, contractors, and third-party engineering firms

Generate material take-offs (MTOs) and assist procurement with civil and structural components

Visit construction sites to support field engineering and resolve technical issues in real time

Continuously improve engineering workflows, standards, and best practices for civil/structural design

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)

10+ years of experience in structural and civil design for industrial, mining, or chemical facilities

Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months (preferred)

Expert knowledge of structural design codes: IBC, ASCE 7, AISC Steel Manual, ACI 318

Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as STAAD.Pro

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and Bluebeam

Demonstrated experience with brownfield modifications and greenfield facility designs

Strong understanding of soil-structure interaction, seismic design, and foundation systems

Experience coordinating with piping, mechanical, electrical, and process teams

Proven ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment with structural, process, and high-value engineering teams

Exceptional communication skills to engage with stakeholders and clearly convey technical information

Experience with equipment engineering and design, including brownfield modifications and upgrades, greenfield equipment design, and evaluation/optimization of operating equipment

Experience in industrial manufacturing, large-scale mining or mineral processing, and large-scale chemical production processes

Engineering, procurement, and construction firms experience
