Prevent injuries, slowdowns, and project risks by demanding complete adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites, and reporting safety regulation issues promptly
Conduct business with external vendors, contractors, and critical subcontractors to negotiate profitable contracts
Keep key stakeholders informed of the project’s status by producing frequent progress reports
Lead, manage, and hold direct reports accountable
Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, designers, JHAs, vendors, and subcontractors
Manage the installation schedule, coordinating all construction timelines and operations into an intuitive plan so the team is on track to meet deadlines
Supervise crew leads and subcontractors, providing direction when needed to ensure the quality of the job
Requisition of materials, equipment, and services on time and within the project budget
Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained from the appropriate authorities, and ensure construction is up to code
Communicate billing milestones to Accounting in a timely manner
Keep project management tools and software up to date
Provide technical assistance to crew members as needed and identify areas for training
Check to commission reports at the end of each project. Facilitate handoff back to Sales/Service
Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly valued
Excellent time-management, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Experience using construction or project management software is preferred
Finished training for OSHA 30 license
At least one year of previous experience as a construction project manager is required
Understanding of solar energy systems and/or roofing is desired
Post-secondary credential or Journeyman-level training
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Supervisory, budgeting, and planning experience
In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, blueprints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, construction processes, and project management principles
