The Project Manager bears the full responsibility to oversee that the construction is performed according to specification, in the most efficient manner according to schedule and under budget. The Project Manager follows all project-related procedures and company policies to accomplish these expectations. Overview

Responsibilities

Planning and Scheduling: study the project, discuss plans and schedules with the division and management, assess needs (personnel, equipment, materials), determine the feasible time frame, and maintain planning throughout the project. Responsibilities include field office site planning, permits and fees, establishing utilities, employee parking, temporary roads, lay down areas, tool cribs, insurance & bonds, safety & first aid. Project Coordination: act as the project’s top representative, attend progress meetings with Owner/Engineer, ensure timely submission of documents, and conduct internal scheduling meetings with Superintendents, Foremen, and Subcontractors. Conduct Pre-Activity Meetings for major items to discuss responsibilities, means & methods, MOT requirements, safety, and quality control. Personnel Selection: coordinate staffing needs with HR, supervise engineering staff, and enforce company policies. Engineering & Technical Oversight: supervise the Project Engineer and staff; coordinate with outside Specialty Engineers as needed; mentor engineers on the project. Contract Documents: understand contracts, specifications, plans, addendums, permits, and utility relocation schedules; identify requirements and potential extra pay or claims and ensure proper documentation. Cost Control: manage the project budget, review cost reports, communicate variances, ensure change orders/claims are documented and submitted, and provide monthly status reports. Subcontractor/Vendor Management: negotiate with subcontractors and vendors, ensure timely payments, and manage claims, change orders, and disputes. Documentation: ensure timely submission of daily reports, accident reports, timesheets, T&M sheets, and maintain a detailed daily diary; file project photos and meeting minutes; notify client if records are inaccurate or incomplete. Public Relations: act as the project’s top official in early negotiations; conduct yourself with integrity and professional conduct. Safety: ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety regulations; coordinate with the Safety Manager to enforce safety policies. The position requires broad leadership capabilities, adherence to MasTec Civil policies, and a strong emphasis on collaboration and problem-solving. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management Minimum five years’ experience in the heavy construction industry with bridge, roadwork, and DOT experience PMP Certification preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Understanding of construction means and methods in heavy construction Strong team leadership and project management skills Experience leading multi-disciplined teams Ability to direct subcontractors to achieve project goals Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project scheduling (P-3 or equivalent) Ability to maintain onsite project documentation and coordinate site work Well-organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask across multiple sites Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment What’s In It For You
