Working closely with Production Leadership, Machine Operators, and maintenance personnel, the Manufacturing Automation Technician plays a key role in maintaining the daily operation, troubleshooting, repair, and efficiency improvements to the manufacturing lines of cutting-edge automation and robotics equipment.
This role will consist of three - 12-hour shifts. (Saturday, Sunday and Monday or Friday).
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining the electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies of sophisticated automation equipment.
Support the design and implementation of automated manufacturing production lines.
Integrate automated systems into manufacturing and assembly lines.
Work with Automation Engineers on capital planning and acquisition projects and supporting implementation and validation of equipment
Documentation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic alterations and additions to equipment at various stages.
Work closely with the maintenance group, beyond authoring PMI’s, to collaboratively equip maintenance with the skills vital to maintain factory equipment.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent experience with 2 years engineering / technical experience in a manufacturing environment or Technical College Diploma/AAS (2-year) degree from an accredited post-secondary institution preferred.
Experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI), control systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron) and control components.
Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics including knowledge of redlining schematics for updates.
Experience in wiring electrical control panels or equipment remote actuators and inputs and outputs as well plumbing equipment, pneumatic or/and hydraulic lines.
Experience in validating new equipment capability, repeatability and capacity prior to introduction to the production floor.
Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, diagnose machine and faults or minor issues including PLC or programming equipment (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and industrial robotics troubleshooting or programming (ABB, Fanuc).

Pay Transparency: nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour
