Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled
Automation Maintenance Technician
to support and maintain our automated systems in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing facility. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge in robotics, PLCs, sensors, pneumatic systems, and other automation technologies used in plastics production and packaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing equipment to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment, including robotic arms, injection molding machines, conveyors, and material handling systems.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
Modify, program, and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and other control systems.
Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to improve machine performance and reduce downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation through CMMS or manual tracking.
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and blueprints.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed following company safety protocols and industry regulations.
Provide input on spare parts inventory and assist in parts procurement when necessary.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications: Education & Experience:
Associate degree or technical diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in automation or maintenance roles within a plastics or similar manufacturing environment.
Experience with injection molding processes and related auxiliary equipment is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of industrial robotics, servo motors, VFDs, and automated control systems.
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance best practices.
Skilled in reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
Working knowledge of safety regulations including LOTO, OSHA,
