The Tenth Judicial District, which includes eight counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Supervisor to join the Anoka County Court Administration team in Anoka, MN.
The Court Operations Supervisor Is responsible for assigning, directing, supervising, and coordinating the work of the Criminal/Juvenile Division to ensure that cases are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Work involves the direct supervision of a moderate number of staff and serving as a supervisor in a Court Administrator's office in a large county. This position requires excellent communication, the ability to analyze legal documents for content and interpret/apply statutes and court rules. This position also requires the ability to make sound, independent judgment and decisions, and deal with diverse populations including staff, judges, stakeholders, and attorneys.
This position is classified as a Court Operations Supervisor and located in the Anoka County Courthouse at 2100 3rd Ave. Anoka, MN 55303, with the possibility of a flexible/hybrid work environment. Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position: Manage the processing of cases in the Criminal/Traffic and Juvenile Division of the Anoka County District Court. Direct workflow to ensure equitable distribution and that priority work is handled promptly and deadlines are met. Delegate projects and assignments to staff as appropriate. Develop, recommend, and implement new rules, MN Judicial Branch policies and procedures. Assist staff with legal questions and analysis as necessary, re-engineer workflow and processes for efficient operations. Develop new procedures, instruct staff on how to write new procedures, train staff on new processes, and hold effective meetings. Interpret statutes, rules, and orders in response to procedural questions from attorneys, subordinates, and the general public. Review and process legal documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of the court record. Review case statistical reports and staff needs to ensure cases are processed timely and accurately. Serve as an effective role model for staff in all areas. Assist in developing orientation, training programs, and procedural manuals for employees. Maintain employee personnel records and timesheets; be actively involved in all aspects of performance management including hiring, onboarding, and discipline for the division. Serve as a back-up supervisor to the co-supervisor in the criminal division when that supervisor is gone or unavailable. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICTATIONS

Three to five years' experience as a court operations associate, lead worker, or similar position.
PREFERRED QULAIFICATIONS Paralegal, associate or bachelor's degree in related field. Two years of supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) and electronic file and serve (eFS). Demonstrated dependability. Ability to interpret, explain, and apply laws, rules, policies, and procedures. Ability to adapt to constant change. Considerable knowledge in processing criminal and juvenile cases. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to identify trends and problems in daily work and recommend improvements.
WHAT YO WILL BRING Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court. Ability to gain thorough knowledge of the organization, operations, functions, and scope of authority of the court. Ability to learn Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), eCharging, and electronic file and serve (eFS). Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to make work decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and prepare reports for such records. Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate employees engaged in variety of court activities. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to make sound, independent judgments, and decisions, and interact with diverse populations including staff, judges, stakeholders, and attorneys.
Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom. Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying items less than 25 pounds such as papers and files. Some positions may require periods of extended sitting, standing, use of telephones and office equipment, and use of computers to enter and retrieve data. Some positions may require standing on a ladder to retrieve files from high shelves.
