As a Construction Professional Liability Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving AXA XLs claims for the Construction Professional Liability team. You will work with your manager, fellow Claims Specialists, claim consultants and outside vendors to drive files to resolution and will interact with Regional Claims Practice Leaders and the Underwriting team to achieve the best outcomes for AXA XL and its clients.

What You’ll Be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Managing assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions and setting case strategy in partnership with Regional Claims Practice Leaders, Claims Legal and Claims management as warranted.

Proactively managing external counsel and setting litigation strategies when counsel is engaged on a claim.

Coordinating and managing communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, external vendors) to ensure high-quality customer service.

Consulting with Regional Claims Practice Leaders and Claims management on Large Losses to achieve the best outcome for the client and AXA XL.

Documenting claim activity in our claim system and establishing/maintaining appropriate reserves.

Producing internal reports and identifying, monitoring and reporting on emerging liability and coverage trends.

You will report to the Manager of Construction Professional Liability Claims.

What You Will Bring

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Professional Liability claims experience: Beginner to Intermediate level experience managing construction claims or Construction Professional Liability claims, or similar experience in construction or design professional fields. Experience assessing and managing coverage issues and complex claims. Demonstrated experience negotiating and settling complex claim files.

Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Able to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of sophistication.

Collaborative approach: Develop productive working relationships with insured, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters and legal counsel. Able to work with a virtual team.

Ethics: Handle responsibilities with integrity and professionalism.

Passion for results: Proactively approach tasks, prioritize multiple work streams, and act with urgency without sacrificing quality.

Intellectual curiosity: Willing to ask questions, explore new ideas, and continuously improve technical skills.

JD preferred.

For more information, see Sustainability at AXA XL. The U.S. base salary range for this position is $106,000 to $186,500 USD. Actual pay is determined by experience and location.
