Glenwood Springs, CO Position overview: The Bridge Academic Advisor II and Coordinator combines student services with leadership for the ESL/HSD/HSE/ABE Bridge Programs, which include Education and training for ESL, High School Diploma, High School Equivalency, and Adult Basic Education courses referred to as the Bridge Program in this document. The role emphasizes student advising, enrollment coordination, collaboration with campus leaders, and supportive services to promote student success. Responsibilities

Academic Advisor II (60%) Deliver academic, career and transfer advising, registration, and general guidance within College policies and guidelines. Guide students in problem-solving and goal setting; lead retention and recruitment activities. Maintain detailed records for student tracking and reporting; communicate professionally with diverse students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Collaborate with faculty and academic affairs to develop student success and retention initiatives; coordinate campus events such as orientation, success seminars, and campus visits. Assist in planning graduation; build and maintain relationships with community partners and local high schools to support partnership pathways. Coordinate assessment of eligible EAP students in conjunction with the Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator; refer students to mental health services as needed. Support students in EAP pathways and transitions to appropriate pathways advisors. Other duties as assigned. Bridge Coordinator (40%) Establish a positive first impression of the college through compassionate leadership; create and implement procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness, including registration workflows and placement testing operations. Troubleshoot and resolve student or class-related issues; promote customer service and train staff; communicate department information as needed (e.g., schedule changes, locations, staffing). Assist with documents, student records, and reporting; oversee fees, tuition collection, and scholarship disbursements in coordination with appropriate offices. Monitor student attendance and enrollment to evaluate retention and completion; ensure compliance with grant restrictions as applicable. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of related experience with a diverse student and adult population; or equivalent education and experience. High school and post-secondary experience essential. Master’s Degree preferred. Special skills and abilities Knowledge of higher education degree requirements and current practices and technology in student services; ability to provide thoughtful academic, transfer and career advising; interpret and analyze placement data and aptitude assessments. Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills; ability to speak publicly and present educational workshops; maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Organize and prioritize work with flexibility; knowledge of standard administrative and business procedures; bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred. Awareness of current pedagogical practices and trends in language acquisition and adult basic education. Salary range: $66,469.29 – $73,854.77 annually, depending on education and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, mental health resources, and other related benefits. Long-term desk-based work with potential for regular evening hours, occasional weekend hours, and travel.
