Job Description: The Bridge Academic Advisor II and Coordinator position encompasses a combination of student services and a leadership role for the ESL/HSD/HSE/ABE instructional programs. English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Diploma (HSD), High School Equivalency (HSE), and Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses make up the Bridge Programs. The Bridge Academic Advisor II provides student advising, high-quality guidance, mentoring, and tools for success in college. Through the course of the students' college journey, Bridge Academic Advisor II interprets placement assessments, co-creates with students' comprehensive academic plans based on understanding of program requirements, students' aptitudes, and propensities, selects courses, and explores transfer options and career pathways. The Bridge Coordinator is responsible for departmental coordination in close collaboration with the Bridge Program Director, and designated campus leadership. Ensures successful and accurate enrollment and registration for Bridge students. Integration and coordination with academic and student services regarding testing, scholarships, and grant management. Responsibilities

Delivers academic, career, and transfer advising, registration, and general guidance for students under the College's academic policies and guidelines. Guides students with problem-solving and goal identification. Leads retention and recruitment activities. Keeps detailed and accurate records related to student tracking and reporting. Communicates professionally and confidentially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Works as a cooperating and contributing member of the campus team, responding to evolving demographic, technological, and community needs, providing leadership and support in the development of new and enhanced student success programs. Qualifications

Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience with a diverse student and adult population; or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position. High School and Post-Secondary experience essential. Master's Degree preferred. Special Skills or abilities related to position: Knowledge of higher education degree requirements, and current practices and technology utilized in student services. Ability to provide thoughtful academic, transfer, and career advising; interpret and analyze placement data and aptitude assessments. Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. CMC is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
