Overview Open position for a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with industrial experience. Must be able to pass a basic ECT test.

Responsibilities

Responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and modification of control systems used in automated machinery.

Performs maintenance service and repairs on production equipment, including preventative maintenance.

Set up and programming of PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo drives; set up and programming of operator interface devices.

Assembles and wires electrical control panels and machinery; generates electrical schematics and supporting documentation.

Employs safe work practices (lockout/tagout, ladder safety, safe use of power tools, etc.).

Leads or supports capital projects, machinery installations, or system upgrades as needed.

Analyzes system failures, performs root cause analysis (RCA), and implements corrective actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (preferred but not required).

5+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.

Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, automation, PLC programming, and control systems.

Experience troubleshooting and maintaining motors, conveyors, gearboxes, circuit breakers, and wiring.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing or updating layouts.

Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance systems.

Knowledge of safety and compliance standards (OSHA, NFPA, NEC).

Knowledge of industrial communication standards (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet/IP); hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge.

Advanced PLC, electrical controls, VFD, and servo systems experience; strong mechanical background for assembly/repair/modification.

Ability to operate power tools and shop equipment; basic troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments for automation.

Ability to work on-site, potentially on rotating shifts, and provide on-call support if required.

Soft Skills & Other Requirements

Project management experience; able to define timelines and resource needs.

Attention to detail, accuracy, and self-discipline; ability to work with limited supervision.

Team player and able to work independently in cross-functional teams; good communication with production, maintenance, and vendors.

Schedule

10-hour or 12-hour shifts

Day shift

Monday to Friday with weekends as needed

Requirements

5+ years of experience in the industrial manufacturing field or related area.

5+ years of electrical troubleshooting and system diagnostics.

Comprehensive understanding of electro-mechanical components in automated manufacturing equipment.
