The Test Engineer designs, develops, and executes tests to ensure product quality, often specializing in software, hardware, or mechanical systems. Their responsibilities include creating test plans and cases, identifying and documenting defects using bug-tracking systems, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues, and reporting findings to stakeholders. Key skills for a test engineer include analytical thinking, technical knowledge of their specific product's domain, strong communication, and proficiency with relevant testing tools and methodologies. This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable in the area. Your future duties and responsibilities: Design and execute tests: Create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to validate product functionality and requirements. Identify and report defects: Find and document software or hardware defects using bug tracking systems and report them to developers and other stakeholders. Collaborate with teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other engineers to understand product requirements and to resolve identified issues. Automate testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and systems for efficiency and to ensure consistent testing. Analyze test results: Evaluate test outcomes and provide regular reports on product quality to project stakeholders. Perform regression testing: Ensure that new changes or fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality. Participate in quality processes: Contribute to continuous improvement processes and adhere to industry standards and company policies. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role Senior: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 to 10 years of experience Security Clearance: TS/SCI required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Poly Technical proficiency: Strong understanding of the specific product's development lifecycle, operating systems, and quality management systems. Analytical skills: Ability to use logical and analytical thinking to design tests, analyze results, and pinpoint areas for improvement. Software/Hardware knowledge: Depending on the field, knowledge of programming languages, hardware components, or mechanical systems is necessary. Automation experience: Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools like Selenium, JUnit, or JMeter is often required. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with different teams. CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $200,000.00.
