MRO Procurement Leader Manager - Cincinnati, OH Job Description
Summary/Objective: As the MRO Procurement Team Lead for the North America Area, you are accountable with your team for a portfolio of strategic repair suppliers. The team of MRO procurement is in charge of supplying repairs to the Safran Aircraft Engines (SAE) MRO Network and is the unique procurement point of contact of the suppliers for the SAE network. Your customers are the local supply chains of the SAE sites located in France, Mexico, Morocco, & Belgium. Your objective is to manage supplier relationships and make sure that the suppliers deliver parts according to Safran needs. 30% of your time will consist of managing a supplier and 70% of your time will consist of managing your team. Location & Reporting: This position is open in our Safran USA | SAE office located in Cincinnati, Ohio. You will report to Alexandre Apack, Director of Supply Chain, solid line and to the MRO Procurement Manager in France dotted line. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: centralizing all repair orders initiated by local supply chains, managing a portfolio of orders in the ERP, detecting alerts or risks, proposing actions to mitigate risks, ensuring suppliers commit to end repair dates, and developing action plans to improve delivery performance. As the team manager of the MRO procurement team in North America, you will also organize the team activity to deliver required performance, secure reporting consistency and quality for the America region, cooperate with other MRO Procurement teams (Europe & Asia) to standardize worldwide processes, coordinate supply-chain actions, escalate problematic flows to suppliers, evaluate team workload, recruit and onboard new MRO Procurement Leaders, approve team business trips and vacations, organize backups, establish a training plan, participate in supplier team dynamics, and establish action plans to improve internal and supplier performance. You will be measured on key performance metrics such as On-time delivery per contractual TAT and adherence to procedures. Job Requirements
Leadership and management of a team Ability to maintain close relationships with supplier contacts at all organization levels Close cooperation with other MRO Procurement teams regions to maintain homogeneous practices and continuous global improvement Customer orientation to match local supply chain needs Ability to challenge suppliers based on MRO knowledge Ability to detect deviations in supplier logistics performance and propose improvements Ability to maintain a close relationship with Safran Supplier Team members (Supplier Performance Manager, Purchaser, Quality Manager, Engineering) Knowledge of supplier capability (part numbers, repairs, certifications) and ability to detect upfront any flow that cannot be managed/achieved Other requirements include: Leadership and communication Reactivity and customer orientation Assertiveness with regard to suppliers Proactivity when a problem is detected Education & Experience
Required Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; English native or near-native to communicate with suppliers; successful past supplier relationship experience; technical skills on engine maintenance/parts repair; French language skill and knowledge of French culture a plus Required Experience: Minimum 3 years in supply-chain, purchasing or production in Aerospace Industry; Preferred 5+ years in supply-chain, purchasing or production in MRO Aerospace Industry with management experience Specificity of the job: Business trips to major suppliers as required; Business trips to France twice per year Company Information
