is looking for talented Structural Engineers to join our team in Kingsport, Tennessee. This role is ideal for someone with experience with AISC, ACI, steel structures such as pipe racks and process structures, and concrete foundations and structures. Responsibilities

Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards. Understand project scope, specifications, and design criteria when assigned to a project task team. Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to engineering tasks. Produce estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate. Produce detailed design calculations and sketches for materials of construction; ensure calculations are neat, organized, and ready for checking and use by drafters/designers. Design with efficient use of construction materials, focusing on ease of construction and meeting client expectations. Review and check calculations by other engineers for accuracy and conformance to codes and design criteria. Assist the drafting group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems; provide sketches and details needed for engineering drawings. Consult with design leaders from other disciplines to ensure a smooth information flow for timely project completion. Advise the senior engineer on design or scope changes identified during work. Assist engineers in developing and assembling scopes, drawings, and specifications into a package for procurement of materials or subcontract pricing. Review vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for civil/structural input. Develop construction specifications and review fabrication drawings and submittals for conformance. Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support. Provide technical guidance to less experienced drafting and engineering personnel. Lead small to medium-size teams in coordinating civil/structural efforts, maintaining scope, schedule, and budget. Develop small work-sharing packages for interoffice execution support. Ideal Background

Education:

Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required. Structural coursework is required for structural engineering positions. Experience:

3+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural engineering. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI). Experience with civil/structural analysis software and interpreting results. Knowledge of discipline-specific methods, practices, and techniques for engineering, design, and construction of process and manufacturing projects. Able to lead a small to medium team to deliver on commitments. Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or both). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Good verbal and written communication skills. Virtual team skills and ability to provide interoffice execution support with general supervision. Physical Requirements
