Overview
Salary: $24.00 per hour. As an Embedded Software Engineer at Lunar Outpost, you will be integral to developing, testing, and refining the embedded software on Lunar Outpost hardware. Interns work directly alongside full-time engineers on real, engaging, and impactful projects, providing tangible value to Lunar Outpost products. This offers an end-to-end experience that promotes collaboration at every stage of autonomous robotic development. Responsibilities
Support the development, testing, and refinement of embedded software on Lunar Outpost hardware. Collaborate with senior engineers on real projects to deliver implementable software solutions. Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Experience in embedded development Proficient in embedded C Experience using version control tools such as Git Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment Strong organizational and time management skills under pressure Passion for space exploration and the possibilities beyond our world Desired Qualifications
Experience with real-time operating system (RTOS) Experience in startup and/or aerospace environments Experience with C++ and Python Ability to test and analyze robotic platforms using simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) Knowledge of robotic systems, including perception, sensor integration, motors, and control systems Experience with board bring-up and peripherals such as GPIOs, SPI, ADC, UARTS, and I2C Experience with NASA core flight software Experience with Bitbucket Experience working with FPGAs Schedule and Location
Mid-May (May 18, 2026) to early August (August 7, 2026). Start and end dates are flexible with the school schedule. In-person, Monday - Friday in Arvada, Colorado.
