Beds: 36 Average Census: 36 Region 2 facilities: Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children’s Hospital) Facility & Center Designations
Trauma Designation: No Teaching Hospital: No Chest Pain Center: Yes Stroke Center: Yes Experience & Floating
Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months of PCU exp Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes Floating: Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable Patient Care & Clinical Scope
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: COPD/Pulmonary Diseases, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Renal Failure, Sepsis, ETOH/CIWA and IVDA, tracheostomies requiring mechanical ventilation, continuous BIPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, hypothermia regulation, and titratable IV drips Patient Ratios: RN 1:3-4; CNA 1:9 Required Licenses/Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Skills: RN experience with the above patients, trached/vented patients, temporary/transvenous pacemaker, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, trach care, blood products, wound care/dressing changes Departmental Support
CNA – patient care (ADLs, Vitals, Nutrition, Blood sugar checks) and mobility Charge nurse; Virtual Nursing (Admissions/Discharges, Virtual Observation, RN sign-off for meds) Phlebotomy, 24/7; IV/VAT Team, 24/7; Pharmacist dedicated to unit Case Manager x 2 per unit; MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist RT 24/7 – Nebulizer treatments; Nurse Educator; Hospitalist 24/7; Intensivist until 12am then virtual/on-call critical care MD Note: No remote Tele Monitoring - Unit Clerk, Charge/Clinical Supervisor and Staff read/post every shift Technology/Equipment
EMR: EPIC IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Philips Rover Communication Orientation & Scheduling
Orientation: Facility and unit (NEO, 2 days departmental) Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other; No call; 75% holidays; RTO: Resource Team approval Shift times: 0650-1920 or 1850-0720 Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks Other notes: Scrub color – RN: Navy Blue Work Environment & Culture
