The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology, is seeking an outstanding clinical or counseling psychologist for a position in our Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic (MSOC). The position is primarily clinical. We are looking for a team-oriented psychologist interested in honing their psychotherapeutic skills and developing a practice for specialty populations and diagnoses. You will join a diverse multidisciplinary therapy team comprising psychologists, counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists, collaborating with psychiatrists and advanced practice providers (APPs) to meet the diverse mental health needs of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Our Subspecialty Clinic
The Multispecialty Outpatient Clinic (MSOC) includes specialty teams addressing various diagnoses and clinical needs, such as Addiction and Substance Abuse, Sleep Hygiene, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders, Women’s Health, Eating Disorders, Geriatrics, Emerging and Young Adults, Early Onset Psychosis Treatment, Functional Neurological Disorders, Medical Complexity, and Pain Psychology.
We seek a psychologist passionate about working with individuals facing serious mental health challenges. The role offers the opportunity to dedicate part of your caseload to supporting patients with conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other complex psychiatric presentations. Experience with early onset psychosis or related diagnoses is a plus but not required. We value candidates committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
Additionally, the position involves conducting assessments for pre-surgical evaluations, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, personality assessments, and testing to assist in differential diagnoses.
Teaching
UT Southwestern offers an APA-accredited Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology and an APA-accredited Internship, providing teaching opportunities. There are also options to supervise psychology interns/practicum students, psychiatry residents, and social work fellows. Research involvement is encouraged, with many opportunities for collaborative efforts across the department.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program and have completed an APA-accredited internship. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a prerequisite for starting the position.
