Profile
We are recruiting an outstanding Inpatient Psychiatry Medical Director to join our University Hospital Psychiatry team. This position will require direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents, medical students, clinical psychology graduate students, and other trainees. Training in interventional psychiatry (ECT, ketamine-based therapies, and TMS) is a plus, but not required.
Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. and be board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career. Academic experience and a strong track record of clinical teaching is a plus.
Responsibilities
Direct patient care as part of the University Hospital Psychiatry team.
Teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents, medical students, clinical psychology graduate students, and other trainees.
Collaborate in the development and delivery of interventional psychiatry programs as applicable (ECT, ketamine-based therapies, TMS).
Qualifications
MD or DO degree with board certification or board eligibility in General Psychiatry.
Texas licensure is a prerequisite for starting in the position, though not required for initial consideration.
Demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career; academic experience and a strong track record of clinical teaching are a plus.
