Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract Location: Emergency Department, Asheville, NC 28801 Shift: 12-hour days (11:00AM – 11:00PM) Weekly Hours: 36 Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025) Unit Size: 101-bed Emergency Department Patient Ratios: 4:1 typical; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling to meet department needs Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,010 - $2,280 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Room (ER) setting Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume emergency department (100,000+ annual visits) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start date) ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback Flexibility to float and work in all areas of the emergency department Commitment to delivering a positive patient experience and respectful, inclusive care Navy scrubs required for all shifts ER Nurse Responsibilities
Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors; document patient care in Cerner EMR system Collaborate with techs, unit clerks, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed Maintain accurate patient boards and ensure clear communication throughout patient visits Follow department policies, guidelines, and attendance standards Contribute to a welcoming, multicultural environment serving patients who speak over 120 languages Apply now
