Location: Asheville, NC 28801 Healthcare Setting: Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Job Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract Start Date: September 22, 2025 End Date: December 22, 2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Shift: 12-Hour Days (5:30AM – 6:00PM) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,640–$1,680 Unit Size: 30 Preop Bays, 16 Phase 2 Bays Patient Ratio: 3:1 Weekend Call: 1-2 times per 6-week schedule Scrub Color: Navy Blue or surgical scrubs Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing or critical care experience BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (current) Strong IV insertion, assessment, and critical thinking skills Experience with Cerner electronic medical records preferred Responsibilities
Deliver pre- and post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in a high-volume PACU setting Monitor patient recovery, vital signs, and manage pain Perform IV insertions, medication administration, and patient assessments Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams Float between Preop, Phase 2, and PACU units as needed Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR Participate in weekend call rotation as scheduled Benefits
