This role is based at the Perlmutter Cancer Center and involves performing medically prescribed nuclear medicine procedures under general direction. Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into duties. Operates hospital and radiology information systems related to nuclear medicine; correctly selects patient information from HIS/RIS in compliance with HIPAA; manages RIS documentation of start/end times and exam modifications as needed. Assesses patient information and status, verifies patient identity, explains procedures, and communicates with medical staff for clarifications; follows departmental protocols and isolation precautions as indicated. Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards; explains procedures to patients and obtains consent when necessary; ensures patient comfort and privacy. Verifies radiopharmaceutical labeling, calculates activity, prepares doses, and uses dose calibrators; positions patients and equipment for optimal imaging; selects imaging parameters and ensures high-quality data display and archiving; analyzes data and reports results to the physician. Assists physicians during procedures, maintains clean and prepared work areas, and coordinates for STAT and emergency cases; ensures proper transmission to PACS and prepares hard copies when needed. Performs non-imaging and in-vitro procedures as required, including radiopharmacy tasks, radiation control, quality control, and documentation of all QC and dose-related activities. Maintains equipment and adheres to safety and regulatory guidelines; participates in problem solving and process improvements as needed. Associate's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related health field for all employees hired after August 1, 2016. Nuclear Medicine permit issued by NYS Department of Health and New York State license in Nuclear Medicine for new graduates. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification. Strong communication, problem solving, and customer service skills; basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; thorough knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment. Required Licenses:

Nuc Med Technologist License, Nuclear Med Tech Cert (NMTCB), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Preferred Qualifications
