Seasonal Emergency Room RN PRN – Medical City Healthcare Introduction We are hiring a Seasonal Emergency Room RN PRN with pay of $62.00 per hour for the 2025‑26 season. The program runs from 9/21/25 to 4/04/26 and is part of HCA Healthcare’s Medical City Plano.

Program Requirements

All seasonal RNs must work a minimum of 72 hours per bi‑weekly pay period during the seasonal period.

Four weekend shifts are required each 4‑week schedule period.

Employees must work two holiday shifts during the 32‑week season.

Seasonal staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off; no guaranteed hours are provided.

Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contributions per PRN policy.

Seasonal staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses.

Registered Nurses in the seasonal program will have an opportunity to pass one clinical competency evaluation.

Current employees of HWS or Hospital Workforce Services are not eligible for the seasonal program.

Shifts may vary based on department needs.

Compensation and Benefits Hourly Rate

– $62.00 per hour Hourly Program

– Seasonal PRN status, 72 hours bi‑weekly minimum, no guaranteed hours, 401(k) plan participation, retirement contributions.

Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in the Emergency Department, using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission and values.

Assesses patient pain regularly and promotes effective pain management.

Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs proactively.

Teaches patients/families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications and side effects, and follow‑up measures.

Educates patients/families/caregivers about non‑medical follow‑up measures such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention and lifestyle changes; prepares patients and families for future self‑management.

Qualifications required:

Texas State RN License or compact license.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.

ACLS or ACLS Instructor.

BCLS or BCLS Instructor.

PALS or PALS Instructor.

At least 1 year of experience in acute‑care emergency room.

Medical City Plano opened in 1975 and is a 600‑plus bed acute‑care hospital serving the Plano and Collin County area. The campus offers advanced medical services, including a cancer treatment center, cardiovascular programs, a bariatric surgery institute, a wound care center, inpatient rehabilitation, and complete women’s and children’s services, including a high‑risk antepartum unit and a Level 3 neonatal intensive‑care unit.
