Base Pay Range
$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr Program Summary
In partnership with Rincon Family Services and Latinx and Arab‑American nonprofits, Illinois Unidos (IU) leads a statewide Health Insurance Navigator program as Illinois transitions to a state‑based marketplace: Get Covered Illinois. The program ensures equitable access to coverage through culturally responsive outreach, education, and enrollment assistance in Cook, Lake, and DuPage Counties. Position Summary
The Health Navigator will: Complete Illinois Department of Insurance training and maintain licensure. Provide impartial guidance on health coverage options, including Qualified Health Plans (QHP) and Medicaid. Assist uninsured and underinsured residents with enrollment. Engage in outreach and community education to promote Get Covered Illinois. Key Duties
Certification & Training
Complete navigator training within two weeks of hire. Maintain licensure and stay current on program requirements.
Outreach & Enrollment
Conduct outreach in LEP and hard‑to‑reach communities. Facilitate QHP or Medicaid selection and enrollment. Refer grievances to appropriate agencies. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet community needs.
Education & Engagement
Deliver presentations and host outreach events. Develop community contacts and partnerships. Promote activities via social media.
Reporting
Document outreach, enrollment, and program metrics. Submit weekly/monthly reports. Participate in trainings and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience (min. 2 years) in nonprofit/public sector/community work. Experience in outreach, organizing, or campaigns. Sensitivity to LEP and underserved communities. Ability to work collaboratively. Benefits
