as the Director of First Generation and Limited Income Services. This role supports first‑generation and limited‑income students across the University of Wisconsin‑Madison. Job Summary

The Director leads strategy development, cross‑functional collaboration, and student success initiatives. Oversight of a full‑time staff, coordination with departments, and tactical execution drive inclusive, student‑centered programs. Key Responsibilities

Develop and audit the program budget. Design assessment strategies to inventory campus‑wide services, identify gaps, and promote visibility. Direct strategic planning initiatives, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan. Serve as liaison, collaborating with internal and external stakeholder groups. Coordinate cross‑functional working groups with academic departments, financial aid, advising, and student life. Act as a strategic thought partner in institutional planning related to access, retention, and student flourishing. Shape institutional strategy for supporting first‑generation and limited‑income students, aligning departmental goals with broader university priorities. Develop operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and objectives. Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, and approving hours worked for at least 2.0 full‑time equivalent employees. Required Qualifications

Build trust and rapport with students from diverse backgrounds, particularly first‑generation students. Understand national trends, research, and practices in first‑generation student success. Design and implement student‑centered programs, including cohort models, mentorship initiatives, or pre‑arrival programming. Collaborate effectively across academic departments and campus units. Supervise professional staff and manage complex projects or initiatives. Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills. Commit to fostering student belonging, development, and success through responsive and student‑focused practices. Preferred Qualifications

Experience working directly with first‑generation college students in a higher education setting. Deep understanding of challenges faced by first‑generation and limited‑income students. Develop programs that address the hidden curriculum, foster belonging, and support transition and persistence. Background in need‑based aid and basic needs initiatives. Education

A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A master’s Degree is preferred, particularly with a focus on postsecondary education, student development, or organizational leadership. Compensation and Benefits

The expected minimum starting salary is $100,000.00 annually. A comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off, health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax‑advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund. How to Apply
