We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy. In this role, the successful candidate will evaluate occupational therapy needs and implement comprehensive, medically prescribed occupational therapy for assigned patients within a supervised rehabilitation program. The role involves demonstrating a variety of treatment approaches, assisting in organizing unit activities, and supporting clinical teaching sessions for staff and students. Key Responsibilities
Perform duties as assigned, including supervising OT students and mentoring staff Engage in clinical decision-making, develop and implement treatment plans, and adjust as needed Assess patient needs using appropriate tools, set achievable goals, and select suitable aids or devices Educate patients and families, complete documentation accurately, and ensure compliance with standards Participate in organizational and structural duties and demonstrate leadership in handling unit issues Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy New York State Occupational Therapy License or temporary permit Minimum of two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist Good communication and interpersonal skills BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification Required Licenses
Occupational Therapist Temp Permit-NYS Occupational Therapist License-NYS Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) Preferred Qualifications
Clinical Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy Additional Information
