We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy to join our team. The successful candidate will evaluate occupational therapy needs and implement comprehensive, medically prescribed occupational therapy for assigned patients within a supervised rehabilitation program. The role involves demonstrating various treatment approaches, assisting in organizing unit activities, and contributing to clinical teaching sessions for staff and students. Job Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned. Teach and supervise OT students in techniques, skills, and procedures. Support students in enhancing their knowledge and skills. Encourage positive learning experiences for students. Maintain patient care productivity levels as per unit standards. Provide patient contact as indicated by productivity reports. Engage colleagues in clinical learning and mentor staff in clinical skills and OT knowledge. Develop personal areas of interest into expertise and assist with organizational duties in the absence of the supervisor. Handle unit-specific issues with situational leadership. Review medical charts and clarify referral/treatment orders for unfamiliar diagnoses. Select appropriate assessment tools and methods for accurate patient status evaluation. Make clinical decisions and adapt treatment plans as needed. Implement treatment protocols according to current standards. Establish achievable treatment goals with patients and families, and refer to other clinical services as necessary. Assess educational needs of patients and families, and provide education during rehabilitation. Complete all documentation for patient care and reimbursement accurately and timely. Maintain proficiency in skills required for the assigned patient population. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, NY State Occupational Therapy License or temporary permit, with at least two years of experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills. BLS certification or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification issued by the American Heart Association is required upon hiring. Required Licenses

Occupational Therapist Temp Permit-NYS, Occup Therapist License-NYS, Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Preferred Qualifications

Clinical Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy. Qualified candidates must communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Additional Information
