Columbus House, Inc. is seeking a Donor Relations Specialist. The company is a non-profit organization that provides services for men and women at least 18 years of age who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk.
Company Overview And Mission : Columbus House opened its doors in 1982 to provide services for men and women at least 18 years of age. Our goals quickly broadened from the mere provision of food and shelter and simple survival, to understanding and working toward overcoming the problems which cause people to become homeless.
Columbus House, along with its core of loyal supporters, friends, and volunteers, has remained committed to fulfilling its mission: "To serve people experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk by providing life-saving outreach, shelter and housing and by fostering their personal growth and independence. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Development Director, the Development Donor Relations Specialist provides the Development team with overall administrative support in this dynamic and fast-paced non-profit Donor Development Department. Responsibilities
Serves as administrative assistant for the Development Department Maintains the donor development database (currently Donor Perfect Online) and ensures timely and accurate data entry and creates reports as needed Stays current and attends training (webinars, teleconferences and in-person) to stay current on donor development trends and data base maintenance Serves as an initial point of contact for donors, and community members Processes daily donation receipts, copies checks, prepares bank deposits and enters donor information into DPO Creates accurate donor acknowledgements on a timely basis Works closely with the Development team and volunteer committees to provide administrative support for all fundraising events Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Bachelor's Degree Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible clerical and administrative support experience in a non-profit development office with extensive expertise in the operation of donor development software Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development Understanding of Agency's mission, homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Outstanding skills in the utilization of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills and a deadline oriented mindset Capable of seamlessly managing multiple assignments and priorities Culturally competent; able to work within a team and foster teamwork using outstanding collaborative skills and is comfortable dealing with donors and volunteers Good judgment and a strong sense of confidentiality High degree of reliability and punctuality Able to clearly articulate the Columbus House mission and is comfortable maintaining relationships with staff, managers, senior leadership, board members and all other Columbus House stakeholders Must have a valid US driver's license and a good driving history Columbus House is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
