The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physicians. The NP provides primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. In addition, the NP is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. Qualifications
Master’s degree in Nursing required. Experienced Nurse Practitioner with 3-5 years of experience. Registered Professional Nurse with a current NJ state license; CDS and DEA. CPR certification. NP Certification. Scheduling Requirements
Full time 40 hours Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 Essential Functions
Administers injections, immunizations and oral medications; starts IV. Assists physician by recording patient progress notes, issues diagnostic orders, and transcribes orders. Assists with counseling and education functions. Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations. Demonstrates knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients. Develops plan of care for patients in coordination with multidisciplinary team and documents and maintains patient records. Establishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers. Examines patients to determine illness; prescribes treatments as indicated; interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Issues prescriptions to patients based on Federal & State Regulations; orders and reviews appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Reviews lab data, participates in protocol development. Performs and documents medical history and physical data; provides care in emergency situations; ensures continuity of care between physician visits. Coordinates nursing and training programs in compliance with policies (HIPAA, OSHA, Code of Conduct). Maintains quality and adequacy of nursing practice; reviews and audits charts; performs wound care as needed; collaborates with physicians for diagnosis. Benefits & Additional Information
