Medical Technologist (Per Diem)

Pay Range Hourly: $30.22 - $57.09
Per Diem Responsibilities Responsible for performing and evaluating laboratory tests, establishing and modifying laboratory procedures, evaluating laboratory data for quality and accuracy, and performing related tasks for diagnostic testing including but not limited to inventory, specimen collection, quality control, quality assurance, training, proficiency testing, reagent/instrument preparation, problem solving, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Provide oversight to the work of the MLT employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or the Biological Sciences required. If applicable, evidence of foreign degree equivalency required.
A minimum of one year experience in a hospital-based lab is preferred, either as a generalist or specialist, depending on the position opening.
Prefer experience with laboratory information system including automated interfaced instruments. Good customer service skills. Good technical and mechanical trouble-shooting skills.

National Certification Agency (NCA) –Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Medical Laboratory Technologist, CSMLS, Canada
American Medical Technologists (AMT) – Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
OR, a single certification such as hematology (H(ASCP)), chemistry (C(ASCP)), microbiology (M(ASCP)) or molecular biology (MB(ASCP)).
