Overview
Medical Assistant II position at Newport Beach Multispecialty Clinic. Full-time, 8-hour days, non-exempt and non-union. Reports to clinic leadership and supports medical care providers in an outpatient/clinic setting. Responsibilities
Clinical duties: document and update patient medical history; perform tests to assist providers in diagnosing patients; conduct screening tests (e.g., vision, EKG, pulmonary function) and basic laboratory tasks (blood draws, specimen collection, urine analysis, cultures) as ordered; administer immunizations or medications within scope of practice and per provider orders; assist physicians during minor procedures; manage prescription refills and coordinate with pharmacies; maintain and sterilize equipment; prepare supplies for diagnostic testing, exams, and procedures; ensure rooms are stocked and equipment is functional; provide patient education as needed; contribute to front-office duties including greeting patients and coordinating check-in/out processes; verify patient demographics and insurance, and assist with scheduling and follow-up care; ensure smooth patient flow and confidentiality of records. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant certificate/diploma program 1 year of experience in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) Strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork abilities Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel Ability to provide concise, accurate documentation and maintain professional behavior in a fast-paced environment Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or the requirement to obtain within 30 days of hire Compensation
Hourly rate: $22.00 - $34.18. The offer considers factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market considerations.
