Position Summary
The Surgical Innovation Training Laboratory is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Extra Help Medical Laboratory Assistant I to support day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will act as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, provide administrative assistance, and ensure efficient functioning of front desk operations. Schedule includes some weekends when events are scheduled at the laboratory.
Duties & Responsibilities
Greet and assist visitors, vendors and staff with professionalism and courtesy
Answer incoming calls and respond to general inquiries
Manage the lab’s front desk paperwork, forms, reports and documentation
Ensure proper logging and filing of visitor and guest records
Manage lab inventory, ordering supplies when necessary and keeping stock organized
Maintain and monitor lab’s schedule, coordinating between vendors and departments
Provide administrative support to the General and Scientific Directors of the SITL
Participate in team meetings, assisting with the coordination of special projects or initiatives as needed
Assist with quality control procedures when necessary
Assist with maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment
Coordinate catering orders for lab-related events, meetings, and special functions
Assist with setup and cleanup for events, ensuring that all arrangements are in place
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
