Overview Provides direct speech/language pathology services to patients of all ages who are referred to the department. Selects appropriate evaluation procedures and develops individualized treatment programs to restore or maximize each patient's functional skills. Qualifications Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) License - Speech Language Therapy (SLP) OR SLP Temp Education: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology (Required) Work Experience: Responsibilities Plans appropriate treatment programs for infants, children, adolescents, and adults based on referrals, evaluation results, and patient/family goals. Maintains a productive schedule, averaging 6 hours of direct clinical care per day, and manages scheduling with the supervisor. Administers daily treatment, adjusting as necessary to meet patient needs. Completes competency assessments for patient care. Provides specialized services such as video swallow studies. Communicates effectively with physicians, team members, families, and caregivers. Establishes rapport with patients of all ages. Selects and instructs on assistive devices. Provides education to patients and families, addressing learning barriers. Determines discharge readiness and plans for discharge, including home programs or continued services. Administers and interprets assessments in areas such as communication, cognition, swallowing, articulation, and voice. Selects appropriate assessment procedures based on patient needs. Completes documentation as per policy. Performs additional duties like charge entry, maintaining a clean environment, and participating in committees.
