This position involves installing, troubleshooting and repairing Bystronic Laser Cutting and Automation systems, and Press Brake Machines. This role requires 100% overnight travel, Monday–Friday. Your Responsibilities
Install, repair, commission and troubleshoot machine tools. Deliver top-notch technical support to customers to guarantee the peak performance of sheet metal machinery. Enter service reports. Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, perform mechanical and electrical repairs, and install new machines. Provide training guidance on machine operation, maintenance, and safety at customer locations to achieve optimal productivity. Your Qualifications
High school diploma required. An associate or technical school degree in engineering or related field is preferred. Hands-on experience in field service of large machinery, or machine tool installation, repair and preventative maintenance. Customer service focus. The ability to travel 100%, primarily within the United States. Occasional international travel may be required. Preferred / Additional Skills
Electrical and mechanical machine troubleshooting experience. Ability to work overtime and including weekends as needed. A valid driver’s license and the ability to rent a car. A passport. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and to bend, push, pull and stand for long periods. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Apple products (iPhone, iPad). Positive, professional attitude and customer service background. Possess a basic tool kit; special tools will be supplied. Understanding of I/O modules, servo amplifiers, and electrical components in control cabinets. Understanding of the relationship between axis motors and feedback systems for each axis. Experience with electrical, hydraulics, EtherCAT, Ethernet, pneumatics, electronics and blueprint/schematics. Seniority level
