Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer role at POWER Engineers, member of WSP. This position is in the Government Services Division and involves engineering design projects in the Government market, including mission-critical infrastructure design: power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, MEP design, and related projects. Responsibilities

Create and issue construction drawings and specifications, studies, and reports. Demonstrate working design knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, prime and standby generation, low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage substations, and UPS systems. Model electrical systems and perform power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower (strongly preferred). Interface directly with internal and external clients; drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints. Work with other discipline leads, PMs, and team members to manage electrical efforts and coordinate with other disciplines. Lead or support as electrical lead or project lead; mentor junior or mid-level electrical engineers and designers. Develop training and mentoring materials to support knowledge management. Propose, design, perform engineering calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and provide construction support. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Professional Engineering License with the ability to be licensed in multiple states. Knowledge and experience with federal government projects; direct application of UFC, UFGS, NEC, and ICC standards. Fifteen or more (15+) years of applicable experience designing and specifying low and medium-voltage power distribution and lighting systems for federal and industrial buildings and site distribution. Specific knowledge of switchgear and substation design. Must be able to self-perform electrical engineering tasks: proposal, design, calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and construction support. Ability to work with other senior engineers for guidance and to act as electrical lead or project lead. Mentoring capability for junior engineers; development of training materials is beneficial. Excellent oral and written communication skills; willing to travel; customer-focused, project-oriented approach. U.S. citizenship required. Desired Education/Experience

Experience designing to NAVFAC and USACE design standards. SpecsIntact specification authoring/editing experience. Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance. Experience with mission-critical infrastructure projects. Solid CAD/BIM skills (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation). Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $80,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year.
