2 Apply Now Senior Electrical Engineer POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is seeking a Senior Level Electrical Engineer to join our Government Services Division. This role involves engineering design on government market projects including power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, MEP design, and related projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor team members; interface with internal and external clients; drive projects to completion within budget and schedule constraints.
Create and issue construction drawings and specifications, studies, and reports.
Demonstrate strong design knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, prime and standby generation, low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage substations, and UPS systems.
Apply NEC, NFPA, ICC, UFC, energy codes, and IEEE standards.
Model electrical systems and conduct power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower (strongly preferred).
Possess or attain a Professional Engineer license in electrical engineering; lead electrical efforts on projects and coordinate with other discipline leads, PMs, and team members.
Develop training and mentoring materials to support knowledge management; mentor junior or mid-level engineers and designers.
Manage project scope, schedule, and budget; communicate effectively in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment; travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
Professional Engineering License with multi-state eligibility
Knowledge and experience with federal government projects; direct application of UFC, UFGS, NEC, and ICC standards
15+ years of applicable experience in design and specification of low and medium-voltage power distribution systems and lighting for federal/industrial sites
Specific knowledge of switchgear and substation design
Ability to self-perform all electrical engineering tasks: proposal, design, calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, construction support
Ability to coordinate with other discipline leads and support coordination across project teams
Ability to mentor and lead electrical teams
Strong communication skills; willing to travel; US citizenship required
Desired Education/Experience
Experience designing to NAVFAC and USACE design standards
SpecsIntact specification authoring/editing
Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
Experience with mission-critical infrastructure projects
CAD/BIM software experience (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation)

Base Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year. The range is compliant with state/local regulations and may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and education. Additional compensation (bonus, benefits, 401(k) match, etc.) not included in the base range.
